A citizen attempted self-immolation in front of the Ilam Province Housing Foundation building.

On Sunday, February 25, a citizen in Ilam County set himself on fire in front of the Ilam Provincial Housing Foundation building due to problems he encountered after the issuance of a final permit for his residential unit. The citizen suffered 60 percent burns.

According to HRANA News Agency, citing ISNA, today, Sunday, February 23, 1402, a resident of Cheshmekabud village in Ilam County set himself on fire in front of the Ilam Provincial Housing Foundation building in protest of the problems caused by the issuance of a termination notice for his residential unit.

Habibollah Mohebi, the general director of the Ilam Provincial Housing Foundation, confirmed this issue and claimed: "This person was looking to finish the work on his residential unit, which should have been done at the village and district offices."

The village headman of Cheshmekabud village also claimed that due to the financial circumstances of this citizen, some of the fees he had to pay were waived. He continued: "The work of this person was issued yesterday and today he went to the provincial housing foundation to complete the work and receive approval to receive the third installment of his facilities, and apparently after a fight with one of the foundation's employees, he committed suicide."

Mohammad Jamalavandi announced the age of this citizen as about 43 years old and said: "It seems that this person suffered 60 percent burns."
