Explosion in south Tehran leaves two dead

An explosion in the Baghershahr industrial park in southern Tehran that occurred on Tuesday morning left two people dead.
The official IRNA news agency reported on Tuesday that "two people were killed and three were injured" in the explosion, quoting the governor of Kahrizak, a district in Rey County.
Amin Babaei said: "The carelessness of workers at an oxygen cylinder filling workshop killed two people and injured three others at 3:20 a.m. on Tuesday."
According to Mr. Babaei, "The intensity of the explosion of the oxygen cylinders was such that it also destroyed the walls of the Saipa Press factory next to this workshop."
Baghershahr, with an area of 55 square kilometers and a population of over 59,000 people, is located 13 kilometers south of Rey County.
This area, which has been described as "completely industrial," was also the scene of a fire in one of the units of the Tehran Oil Refinery in 2017, which left six dead and four injured.
This explosion comes exactly a week after the Sina Athar Medical Center in Tehran was set on fire last Tuesday.
