Explosion at a cafe-restaurant in Tehran kills eight people

The CEO of the Tehran Red Crescent has confirmed the news of an explosion at a cafe in Shahriar city, saying that eight people were killed in the incident. The cause was apparently a helium balloon explosion during a birthday party.
According to Shahin Fathi, CEO of the Tehran Province Red Crescent, 8 people were killed in an explosion at a cafeteria in Shahriar County.
The explosion occurred on the evening of Tuesday, June 14, and news of it was first spread quickly on social media.
Later, Mojtaba Khalidi, a spokesman for the country's emergency services, told ISNA news agency that information from the emergency services indicated that seven people, including three children aged three to six, three women aged 20 to 40, and a man aged about 50, had lost their lives.
Citing initial reports, he said the cause of the incident was the explosion of a helium balloon at a birthday party in a basement cafe.
