4 Citizens Arrested for Drinking Alcohol
The “Hrana” news agency reported the arrest of 4 citizens for consuming alcohol.
Following a party gathering held in the village of “Mim” in Kahak County, 4 citizens were arrested by the Sepah forces of the “Syed al-Shohada” district due to alcohol consumption. It is worth noting that two vehicles belonging to them were also confiscated.
So far, no information is available regarding the identity and detention location of the arrested individuals. The arrest of the aforementioned individuals has drawn criticism and reactions regarding the violation of citizens’ privacy and interference in their affairs by the state and judicial system.
The arrest of alcohol and drug consumers in Iran occurs while the Islamic Republic system itself is one of the major importers of narcotics and producers of alcoholic beverages, yet it arrests consumers and even issues death sentences for drug traffickers. Moreover, alcohol consumption is forbidden and prohibited for ordinary people in society, but remains unrestricted for officials and their families.
