At least five citizens arrested in Piranshahr in the past 48 hours

On Sunday, February 1, the Hengaw human rights organization announced the arrest of three more citizens in Piranshahr by the Islamic Republic's security forces, warning of the possibility of an increase in the number of arrests in this Kurdish region of Iran.
According to the organization's report, two citizens, Faryad Khatib (Shilan) from Piranshahr and Ali Omarpour from the village of "Chianeh" in the Naqdeh district, were arrested on Sunday morning following a raid by the Piranshahr Intelligence Department forces at their home.
An informed source reported that security forces arrested the two citizens "without presenting a judicial document" and "beat them up."
Another citizen, Murad Mamaresh, was also arrested on the same day after being summoned to the Piranshahr Intelligence Department.
According to the Hengaw report, no information is yet available on the reasons for the arrest, charges, or whereabouts of these three citizens.
Today's arrests come after Ayub Hadisi and Rahman Khedmatgazar, two environmental activists from Piranshahr, were arrested yesterday by the city's intelligence agency.
