Arrest of Keyvan Mohtadi and Anisha Asadollahi, cultural and civil activists in Iran

The Iranian Writers' Association announced the arrest of Keyvan Mohtadi, a writer and member of the organization, and his wife, Anisha Asadollahi, a translator.
The arrest of these two cultural and civil society activists took place on the afternoon of Monday, May 9, by Iranian security forces. Moments earlier, Mr. Mohtadi had posted a short video on his Instagram story in which he said: "They have come to arrest us."
The charges against the two writers and translators are not clear. It has not yet been announced which security agency is responsible for their arrest and where they are being held. The Iranian Writers' Association has warned that "any harm to their health will be the responsibility of the government's security agencies and the judiciary."
Anisha Asadollahi has a history of being arrested several times and sentenced to one year in prison for participating in labor rallies. Keyvan Mohtadi was also briefly arrested during the 2018 protests by bus union workers.
