Some Teachers Say Billions of Dollars Have Been Transferred in Banks Under Their Names

While the petrochemical case remains in the news as one of the largest corruption cases in Iran in recent days, this time a number of teachers say that salary slips have been issued in their names for astronomical amounts.
On Tuesday, March 12, a number of teachers announced on Twitter by posting their salary slips with large sums belonging to December and January of 2015 that they are unaware of these amounts and it is unclear what the reason for issuing these slips is.
According to these teachers, the issued slips were accessible from the Ministry of Education website, but it is said that access to the salary slips for December and January of 2015 on this website has now been closed.
One Twitter user wrote in this regard that “the salary slips for December and January 2015 of teachers showing several hundred million in deposits and immediately withdrawn, and currently in the teachers’ salary slip system only access to the years 2017 and 2018 is possible.
Another user linked this matter to the file of the Cultural Retirement Fund and wrote that this incident has raised suspicions of document forgery related to the flow of “embezzlement of the retirement fund.”
The report of the Parliament’s investigation committee on the Cultural Retirement Fund was finalized in 2017, and according to parliamentary representatives, a violation of 13 thousand billion tomans by this fund was confirmed, but the capital of the cultural workers in this fund has still not been returned to them.
Reports indicate that a number of cultural workers in Lorestan have also noticed changes in their December 2015 salary slips that show amounts of one to tens of billions of tomans.
Also, the Telegram channel of Justice-Seeking Teachers, which covers news related to teachers, reported that about 24 hours have passed since the publication of astronomical salary slips in various cities of Iran, but no official authority has yet provided an explanation on this matter.
The issue of astronomical salary slips for teachers in 2015 has been raised while only a few days have passed since the news of petrochemical corruption, one of the largest corruption cases in Iran. A case in which, although in the first trial the amount of 6 billion and 656 million euros was announced for major disruption to the country’s economy, the prosecutor subsequently reversed course and denied this.
The Islamic Republic in its 40-year rule has repeatedly faced corruption and embezzlement cases. Corruption that sometimes initially came about in the name of finding ways around “sanctions” and later was revealed as a corruption and embezzlement case.
The United States has repeatedly spoken about the existence of corruption in the Iranian government, including Mike Pompeo, the US Secretary of State, who previously tweeted several times about Islamic Republic officials, saying they were involved in corruption instead of helping people and spent the people’s wealth supporting terrorists.
