Uncertainty and continued detention of "Athena Farghadani"

After more than 50 days, Atena Farghdani is still detained in Evin Prison and is in limbo.

On the evening of April 25 of this year, cartoonist and civil activist Athena Farghdani intended to display one of her paintings on a wall on Pastor Street in Tehran during a protest. While doing so, she was violently arrested by security forces and transferred to Evin Prison.

He also had a history of arrest and conviction for his activities in the past. In June 1402, after going to the Evin Prosecutor's Office, he was arrested and transferred to Qarchak Prison in Varamin. After a few days, he was indicted by Branch 1 of the Evin Prosecutor's Office on the charge of "disturbing public order" and was eventually released on bail.

She is currently in Evin Prison and despite the passage of more than 50 days, she is still in limbo. Since late May, Atena was banned from visiting by the prison disciplinary committee due to her protest against the condition of one of her cellmates, and she still faces this ban.

Atena Farghadani, who is in prison on charges of "insulting sacred places," "propaganda against the system," and "disturbing public order," has not yet had a court hearing to hear her charges, and her case is pending.
