Final statement of the G7 leaders: We are committed to Iran never producing nuclear weapons

At the end of the G7 summit in Germany, members of the G7 issued a statement emphasizing that the group is committed to ensuring that Iran "never produces a nuclear weapon."
The statement, released on Tuesday, expressed regret that Iran did not seize the opportunity to revive the JCPOA, "despite diplomatic efforts to establish its full implementation."
The world's seven richest democracies say in the statement that they are committed to working with other international partners to address the "global security threats" that stem from "Iran's escalating nuclear activities."
The G7 statement called on Iran to cooperate fully with the International Atomic Energy Agency, saying a “diplomatic solution remains the best path to limiting Iran’s nuclear program.”
In another part of the statement, the G7 countries strongly condemned what they called Iran's destabilizing behavior in the region and demanded that Iran, under Resolution 2231 and other United Nations Security Council resolutions, cease all activities related to ballistic missiles and other weapons development measures that are in conflict with those resolutions.
The G7 statement said that the group welcomes regional initiatives to improve bilateral relations between countries in the region and calls on Iran to constructively and actively participate in advancing "peace and security in the Middle East."
In recent years, Israel has established closer relations with Arab countries, and some reports indicate these countries' willingness to cooperate militarily with Israel.
The Group of Seven has also expressed serious "concern" over the continued human rights violations in Iran, including arbitrary detentions, and condemned the "increase" in the death penalty in Iran.
In this statement, the G7 members called on Iran to end the arbitrary detention of "foreign citizens and dual nationals for political purposes."
They have also said they support international efforts to hold Iran accountable for the "illegal downing" of Ukrainian flight 752.
176 passengers on flight PS 752 lost their lives when the IRGC fired missiles in the skies over Tehran on January 8, 2019.
The G7 summit will be held in Germany from June 26 to 28 (July 25 to 27), and the four European countries of Germany, France, Britain, and Italy, along with Canada, the United States, and Japan, are members of this group.
