Intensification of the war of words between Iran and the United States in the shadow of military threats

IRGC commanders have spoken of military might and declared that the United States and its allies “do not dare to fire a single bullet at Iran.” The speaker of the parliament has called the destruction of the American drone a sign of readiness to confront any “aggression.”

The war of words between Iranian and American officials has intensified. Donald Trump has stated that a war against Iran, if it occurs, will not last long and that it would not even require ground forces to carry it out.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has also claimed that it has such military power that no one would think of attacking Iran. The regional allies of the Islamic Republic of Iran, including Hezbollah in Lebanon, have also assessed the consequences and costs of attacking Iran as very heavy for the United States.

Despite these threats, both countries have stated that they do not want war. Trump has repeatedly said that he is ready to meet and talk with Hassan Rouhani or Ali Khamenei.

On Thursday, June 27, the Khabar Online website quoted Ali Fadavi, deputy commander of the IRGC, as saying: "The power of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the military arena has prevented the United States and its allies from daring to fire even a single bullet at Iran."

Important missions of the IRGC

Fadavi spoke about five areas of activity of the Revolutionary Guard to neutralize the actions of Iranian opposition forces in the region and around the world.

The deputy commander of the IRGC has called the activities in these five areas the “most important missions” of the IRGC. According to Fadavi, these five areas include: “countering hard threats, semi-hard threats, soft war, domestic threats, and foreign threats.”

Fadavi has claimed that military authority has effectively reduced the dangers posed by “hard threats.” He said: “Despite the passage of more than 30 years since the end of the war and despite the fact that no one has dared to fire at our country during this period, the aspect of hard threats has continued, but in this area the enemy has not dared to do anything, but in the other four areas the enemy is constantly active, day and night.”

Referring to the downing of the American drone, IRGC Navy Commander Alireza Tangsiri said in an interview with ILNA news agency: "We hope that our enemies will learn a lesson from the recent incident and understand the truth that we will not compromise with anyone in the path of protecting the maritime, air, and land sovereignty of Islamic Iran and will respond decisively to any threat or aggression."

Ali Larijani, the speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, has also announced that Iran will confront any aggression. Larijani said: "If any small or large country invades Iran, we will not hesitate to confront it, and as we have shown in the eight years of sacred defense, we will confront the aggressor, and all countries must pay attention to the authority of the Islamic Republic of Iran."

Reaction of Iran's allies in the region

The Islamic Republic of Iran's allies in the region, including forces affiliated with Lebanon's Hezbollah, have also repeatedly reacted to the US military threat to Iran in recent days.

Sheikh Naim Qassem, deputy leader of Lebanese Hezbollah, has said that the United States is reluctant to attack the Islamic Republic of Iran for various reasons, including its "high defensive capabilities."

Naim Qassem, in an interview with the Lebanese newspaper "Al-Jomhurit", said that starting a war against Iran would not bring any benefit to Trump and the US government. He emphasized that Trump could initiate the war, but the US would not have control over this war and it could set the entire region on fire.
