Israeli army attacks Evin prison and other targets in northern Tehran

The Israeli Ministry of Defense announced a targeted attack on Evin Prison and some areas north of Tehran.
According to published reports, today, Monday, June 23, Israel targeted a series of security and military institutions of the Islamic Republic, including Evin Prison, Basij Headquarters, Seyyed al-Shohada Corps, Tharallah Headquarters, Alborz Corps, the Intelligence Protection of the Police Force Command, and the Police Force Intelligence Headquarters.
The Israeli Defense Minister, in a message on the X social network, wrote: "According to the instructions of Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Minister of Defense, the Israeli army is now attacking with unprecedented force the targets of the regime and the institutions of state repression in the heart of Tehran, including the Basij headquarters, Evin Prison for political prisoners and opponents of the regime, and the "Israel Destruction" calendar."
The Israeli army also released images and videos showing a "spot-and-shoot" attack on the entrance to Evin Prison in northern Tehran. As a result of the attack, the administrative building, the meeting building, and the Evin courthouse were also targeted and destroyed. At the same time, explosions also occurred near Tehran's Takhti Stadium. The "Israel Destruction" calendar that was installed in Palestine Square was also destroyed in the Israeli attack.
According to the Israeli army, the attack on the entrance gate of Evin Prison, which is one of the symbols of the Islamic Republic's repression, did not damage the buildings where prisoners are held because the attack was a "spot-targeted" attack.
Political prisoner Abolfazl Ghadiani announced in a phone call to his son Ahmad that all the windows of Ward 4, where political and security prisoners are held, had been broken. Ahmad Ghadiani also posted on the X social network: “My father called from Evin Prison. Evin Prison was attacked and all the windows of the ward were broken. Apparently, the health facility was also damaged and someone said that the prison door had been broken. Does the Islamic Republic really want to keep so many political prisoners, many of whom are sick, in prison? What kind of crime and stupidity is this?”
Ahmad Qadiani also added: "My father has a bag ready for prison, so that whenever they break into his house, he can pick it up and go with the prison guards. Today I saw him lightening the bag. It's not a big bag, and it contains all the necessary prison supplies and, of course, a lot of medicine. The old man can no longer carry it, but he doesn't want the oppressors to help him."
Many families of political prisoners and local people, after the attack on Evin Prison, are trying to reach Evin Prison to help the prisoners, and even people with limited access to the internet have posted messages on social media asking families whose loved ones are in Evin Prison to come to the prison.
The Fars News Agency, affiliated with the Revolutionary Guard Corps, also reported hours ago that Evin Prison was targeted by a drone or a limited explosive operation.
The Sarallah base, an institution for dealing with security crises and belonging to the Revolutionary Guards in Tehran and operating under the General Command of the IRGC, was also one of the targets of the Israeli attack on the same day. The IRGC base in Alborz province was also targeted by Israel.
