Tomaj Salehi's death sentence sparks global reaction

The news of the death sentence of Tomaj Salehi sparked many reactions around the world and internationally.

Many members of the European Parliament and prominent opposition figures, in response to the Revolutionary Court's death sentence for Tomaj Salehi, condemned the action and called for Tomaj's unconditional release.

In response to this action, French Senate member Nathalie Goulet posted a text on the X social network, writing: "The court has sentenced Iranian rapper Tomaj to death. We must hold a demonstration to save his life."

Abram Pelli, the US special representative for Iran, also published a text on the X social network, condemning the death sentence for Tomaj Salehi and the five-year exile sentence for Saman Yasin, saying: "These are the latest examples of the Iranian regime's ruthless oppression of its citizens, disregard for human rights, and fear of the democratic change that the Iranian people are seeking."

Hamed Esmailiyon, a prominent opposition figure, also wrote, pointing out that Toumaj Salehi is a symbol of the heroic struggle of the Iranian people: "Execution, killing, and violence are the last tools of the Islamic Republic. A government that has come to kill hope, a government that wants to instill in the people a sense of failure, unaware that it has itself lost its rhyme in the face of the people's anger. A government that is very afraid of the people's anger."

He also announced a call to be held on Saturday and Sunday next week for numerous marches and gatherings around the world to protest the death sentence of Toumaj Salehi.

Helmut Brandstätter, a member of the Austrian parliament and political sponsor of Tomaje Salehi, also released a video in front of the Islamic Republic of Iran's embassy in Austria, condemning the sentence issued against Tomaje and stating: "The Islamic Republic is a regime of terror. Not only because of the attack on Israel, but according to official statistics, three people are executed every day, some of whom may have simply expressed their desire to live in a democracy."

He asked Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg to work to free Tomaj, adding: "We cannot just sit back and watch Tomaj Salehi being killed."

Prince Reza Pahlavi also reacted to the sentence issued against Tomaj Salehi by posting a text on the social network X: "The Islamic Republic has sentenced its opposition rapper Tomaj Salehi to death. From its very beginning, this regime has been at odds with artists, especially those who have used their talent to defend Iran's freedom. I call on the international community, especially artists around the world, to be the voice of Tomaj and work to immediately overturn this shameful sentence and release him from prison without restrictions."
