The six-year prison sentence of civil activist Farhad Meysami was upheld by the appeals court.

According to Mohammad Moghimi, Farhad Meysami's defense lawyer, the six-year prison sentence of this political prisoner has been confirmed in its entirety by the Court of Appeal.
Mr. Moghimi announced on social media on Saturday that the verdict had been served on his client in Evin Prison, but had not yet been served on him.
According to Mr. Meysami's defense lawyer, the six-year prison sentence has been confirmed exactly, but "the two-year deprivation of social rights has been reduced to one year."

Farhad Meysami, a physician and civil activist, was arrested at his workplace in August last year and charged with "propaganda against the system" and "gathering and colluding against national security."
Sediqeh Pishnamaz, Mr. Meysami's mother, said in an interview with Radio Farda that the reason for her son's arrest was that he had a number of badges on which it was written, "I object to the compulsory hijab."
