Families of Flight 752 victims: Canadian government report exposes Islamic Republic's lies

The Association of Families of Flight PS 752 Victims issued a statement on Thursday, July 25, welcoming the report of the Canadian government's investigation team, calling it an indication of the "crimes, secrecy, and lies of the Islamic Republic."
The Canadian government's investigation team released its report into the downing of Flight PS752 yesterday, announcing that it had concluded that Iran "failed to provide a credible explanation as to how and why" it shot down the passenger plane.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has also said that the content of the report shows that the Islamic Republic's official narrative of the event is "inconsistent, misleading and superficial, and deliberately ignores key factors."
Ukrainian airliner PS752 was shot down on January 8, 2019, by at least two missiles fired by the Revolutionary Guards, killing all 176 people on board.
The Association of Families of Flight PS 752 Victims stated in its statement that the Canadian government's report "reveals the Islamic Republic regime's disregard for human life, failure to state the facts, inability to administer justice, and suppression of the families of the victims."
The statement added that the association is encouraged by Canada's commitment to pursuing truth and justice, including the possibility of referring the case to the International Court of Justice and an international call to prosecute the Islamic Republic for the behavior that led to the willful murder of our loved ones.
The Association of Families of Flight PS 752 Victims has considered the Canadian government's decision to conduct an investigation and review an important but insufficient step that "cannot reach a final conclusion in the investigation of the events that occurred on January 8th."
Families of the victims of Flight PS 752 say the Canadian government's report clearly shows that experts did not have access to witnesses and documents.
The statement stated: "The Canadian government must strive to bring the perpetrators of this crime to justice and ensure justice is served for the victims and their families."
The Association of Families of Flight PS 752 Victims has called on the Canadian government to "recognize the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization, implement targeted Magnitsky sanctions on the perpetrators of this crime, and pursue the case of this flight in domestic criminal courts."
The Islamic Republic denied shooting down the flight for three days, but after the release of evidence and documents by the United States, Australia, Canada, and Britain, it finally admitted under international pressure that the plane was shot down by missiles from the IRGC's defense system, but claimed that the incident occurred due to "human error."
Canadian Foreign Minister Marc Garneau said on Thursday, May 13, that the Iranian government's behavior since the downing of a Ukrainian passenger plane with 176 people on board by the Revolutionary Guard over Tehran in January 2019 has been "unconscionable."
