Following labor protests | 7 Haft Tappeh Sugarcane workers sentenced to imprisonment and flogging

Reports indicate that several Haft Tapeh workers were sentenced to eight months of suspended prison sentences and flogging in a court in the city of Susa.
The independent channel of Haft Tappeh workers announced on Telegram that a number of Haft Tappeh workers have been sentenced to eight months of suspended imprisonment and 20 lashes by the Shusha court.
This source of news about the Haft Tappeh workers did not mention the number of workers sentenced, but the ILNA news agency announced the number of these people as 7 workers.
The issuance of flogging and suspended prison sentences for Haft Tappeh workers comes at a time when the trial of Esmaeil Bakhshi, Sepideh Gholian, and several other labor activists is ongoing in Tehran's Revolutionary Court.
ILNA also reported that 10 workers from the Haft Tappeh sugarcane complex must appear in the Shush Danial court tomorrow, Wednesday, August 14; two of these ten are members of the Islamic Labor Council of this industrial unit.
Apparently, these trials are related to last year's protests by Haft Tappeh sugarcane workers.
Workers at Haft Tappeh Sugarcane Plant went on strike on November 25, 2018, protesting the non-payment of their overdue wages for more than three months. The protesters believed that the private sector employer was incapable of managing the factory and that the workers' council could run the Haft Tappeh Sugarcane Plant better than the employer.
But in return, the security forces responded violently to these labor protests. Although months have passed since these protests, the workers' demands have not been met, and arrests and security clashes with labor activists and Haft Tappeh workers continue.
