In one week, at least 17 kolbars were injured by direct fire from border forces.

At least 10 Kolbars were injured by direct fire from Border Regiment forces at the Nosud border in Kermanshah on Sunday evening, April 18.

With this calculation, the number of kolbars who have been injured by direct fire from border forces at the Nosud border over the past week has reached at least 17.

The human rights website Hengaw, which publishes news from Kurdish-populated areas, announced the news and said that these kolbars were targeted with shotguns in the head, back, and hands, and a number of them were taken to the hospital after being injured.

According to the Kurdpa news site, border forces have targeted these Kolbars with gunfire without prior warning.

The Kurdistan Human Rights Network had also reported in the past days that six Kolbars were injured on April 13 and 14 by direct fire from border forces at the Nosud border.

The human rights organization Hengaw had previously announced in early January 1402 that in 2021, at least 52 Kurdish Kolbars had been killed in Iran, 4 of whom were under the age of 18.

According to the report, during this period, 163 Kolbars were also injured during border force shootings, and out of a total of 140 shootings that resulted in the death or killing of Kolbars, 134 were carried out by Iranian armed forces and 6 by Turkish and Iraqi armed forces.

The situation of Kolbars has become a human rights issue in recent years. Officials in the Islamic Republic consider Kolbari a form of smuggling, but many critics and activists, citing poverty, widespread unemployment, and existing inequalities, describe Kolbari as the only way for a group of citizens to "survive."

The Kolbari organization plan was announced in the parliament in late April last year, but a year later, it has not yet been approved.

Shahriar Heydari, a member of the National Security Commission, promised in mid-January 2011, without specifying a specific date, that "the plan to organize the livelihood activities of border residents will soon be approved in the parliament."
