At least 22 protest rallies were held.

On Thursday, June 12, the family of Vahid Bagheri, a political prisoner and one of those arrested during the nationwide protests in front of the parliament in November 2019, and a number of social security retirees in the cities of Naqdeh, Bandar Abbas, Zanjan, Shush, Sanandaj, Tabriz, Shushtar, Rasht, Hamedan, Karaj, Ardabil, Arak, Kermanshah, Isfahan, Sari, Borujerd, and Ahvaz held protest rallies in front of their province's Social Security Directorate, a group of retired BRT drivers in front of Tehran Unitary Bus Company's System 3, a number of Tehran shopkeepers in the Amin Huzoor and Jomhuri intersection areas, a group of citizens living in Tehran in front of the Tehran Pars Electricity Authority, and a number of workers at the Tehran Pharmaceutical Factory for the second consecutive day in the factory's premises, demanding that their demands be addressed.

According to HRANA News Agency, the news agency of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, on Sunday, June 12, 2022, the family of Vahid Bagheri, a political prisoner and one of those arrested during the nationwide protests of November 2019, gathered in front of the parliament.

These citizens gathered to protest the authorities' indifference to Vahid Bagheri's situation.

Rasoul Bagheri had previously reported in an interview with Emtaad about his brother’s condition and the start of Vahid Bagheri’s hunger strike. On May 10, Vahid Bagheri went on a hunger strike in the Greater Tehran Prison in protest against the authorities’ refusal to grant him conditional release, despite the fact that about a year had passed since the request was approved by the head of the judiciary. HRANA recently reported on the poor physical condition and the severe drop in blood pressure and blood sugar levels resulting from the hunger strike in the prison.

Social Security retirees rally

According to the Free Union of Iranian Workers, on Sunday, June 12, 2022, a number of social security retirees in the cities of Naqdeh, Bandar Abbas, Zanjan, Shush, Sanandaj, Tabriz, Shushtar, Rasht, Hamedan, Karaj, Ardabil, Arak, Kermanshah, Isfahan, Sari, Borujerd, and Ahvaz gathered in front of their provincial social security offices.

The rally of retirees was held to protest the non-implementation of the Supreme Labor Council's wage resolution and the government's decision to increase pensions by 10 percent for other levels.

Previously, the procedure for increasing the pensions of worker retirees each year was based on the fact that after determining the salary in the Supreme Labor Council, the same resolution was proposed to the government by the board of directors of the Social Security Organization, and upon approval, the government notified the increase in pensions of retirees to the Social Security Organization for implementation. However, on Sunday, June 15 of this year, the government, ignoring the resolution of the board of directors of the Social Security Organization and despite the resolution of a 38 percent increase, increased the salaries of retirees by a negligible 10 percent.

Retired BRT drivers gather

According to the workers' union of the Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company, on Sunday, June 12, 2022, a group of retired BRT drivers staged a protest rally in front of the Tehran Bus Company's System 3 bus terminal.

According to this report, these citizens gathered to protest the non-payment of the heavy-duty insurance premium (four percent) and the full payment of their annuity dues.

Tehran shopkeepers' gathering

According to the Free Union of Iranian Workers, on Sunday, June 12, 1402, a number of shopkeepers in Tehran, including in Amin Huzoor Street and Jomhuri Crossroads, gathered and marched to protest the arbitrary increase in taxes on the private sector.

It is said that the protest of these citizens turned violent with the intervention of security forces.

Gathering of citizens living in Tehran

According to the Free Union of Iranian Workers, on Sunday, June 12, 1402, a group of citizens living in Tehran gathered in front of the Tehran-Pars Electricity Authority.

Protesting citizens chanted slogans such as "Water, electricity, life, our inalienable rights," demanding that their demands be addressed.

Workers of Tehran's pharmaceutical factory gather

According to ILNA, a group of workers at the Darugar factory in Tehran, a subsidiary of Darugar Holding, held a protest rally for the second consecutive day in the factory premises.

The workers said: "The reason for our protest is the uncertainty of the production status, the non-payment of wage and insurance claims, and the threat to job security due to increased tax debts, which has made it impossible to register in the comprehensive trade system to procure raw materials for production."
