New round of Haft Tappeh workers' strike continues for 10th day

The strike of Haft Tappeh sugarcane industry workers in Khuzestan Province continued for the tenth day on Thursday, October 5, in front of the governor's office.

According to the Telegram channel of the Haft Tappeh Sugarcane Workers' Union, the strikers are demanding the payment of arrears, immediate assignment of the company's management, the return of fired colleagues to work, the extension of the contracts of seasonal workers and the pest control department, and an end to the legal case against the Haft Tappeh workers' lawyer.

In previous days, the strike of Haft Tappeh sugarcane industry workers was accompanied by numerous marches in the city.

Earlier, following the filing of a case against Farzaneh Zeilabi, the lawyer defending the Haft Tappeh workers, and the holding of a court hearing for her, seven trade unions and labor and trade unions issued a statement condemning the trial of this lawyer.

Ms. Zeilabi had previously represented some labor activists, including Esmaeil Bakhshi, Ali Nejati, and other Haft Tappeh workers, and as a result of these representations, she faced legal action.
