Donald Trump: Iran will be bombed if no nuclear deal is reached

Donald Trump warned of bombing Iran if there is no nuclear deal.

"If Iran doesn't make a nuclear deal with us, they're going to be bombed. They're going to be bombed like they've never seen before," US President Donald Trump said in a phone interview with NBC about the nuclear deal negotiations.

Trump had invited Ali Khamenei to negotiate in a letter addressed to him a few weeks ago, and sent the letter to Iran through an Emirati mediator. Ali Khamenei had also rejected direct negotiations with the United States, but according to Masoud Pezzekian, Ali Khamenei has authorized indirect negotiations.

Masoud Pezhikian announced in a cabinet meeting that Abbas Araqchi delivered the aforementioned letter to the American liaison through Oman and stated: "Indirect negotiations have always been there and the leadership emphasized that indirect negotiations can continue. Iran does not avoid negotiations, but the problem is non-compliance and they must prove that they can build trust."

Iranian government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani also announced indirect negotiations with the United States in a post on the X social network. She wrote in the post: "The path of indirect negotiations with the United States has been put on the agenda and the diplomatic process is continuing."

Donald Trump also mentioned the dialogue between Iran and the United States in his interview, but did not provide details of the conversation. The letters exchanged between the United States and Iran have led to speculation that the Iranian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on the matter, writing: "Insisting on making public the current correspondence and interactions between countries, using demagoguery expressions such as 'declaring people not sacred', is, at best, nothing more than unnecessary marginalization and psychological inflammation in society. Therefore, the confidentiality of the correspondence between Iran and the United States will continue as long as the interests of the country require it."

Iran issued an order for indirect talks with the United States after Donald Trump warned and threatened in the past two days that "very, very bad things will happen if there is no nuclear deal."

Kazem Gharibabadi, Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, also published a post on his X account and wrote: "In implementation of the understanding of the fourth round of talks between diplomatic officials of Iran and three European countries, specialized and technical talks between the four countries on the nuclear issue and the lifting of sanctions were held at the expert level in Geneva on Thursday."

Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, in response to Donald Trump's letter in the parliament, said: "Negotiations to forcefully accept the enemy's demands are a prelude to war. If the US implements its military threat against Iran due to the lack of a new nuclear agreement, the US and its allies' bases in the region will not be safe."
