Azad University-style land grabbing

The transfer of 3,162 hectares of national resource lands and about 15 million square meters of urban lands across the country to the Islamic Azad University without observing legal regulations, at the lowest possible price and mostly free of charge; and this is while university officials have generally denied the supervisory bodies the ability to monitor the proper exploitation and use in accordance with legal regulations and agreements.

An interesting point about the land grabbing of the Azad University is the admission of the university officials themselves to this issue. Mohsen Hashemi Rafsanjani, the deputy director of civil engineering of the Azad University, referring to the legal problems of the university, said: "One of the main problems is that half of the university's lands are undocumented, and a special program must be carried out to determine the assignment of these lands. Now, what is the special program of the gentlemen for documenting this matter is one of the issues that we must wait and see."

 A part of this violation of public rights by the Islamic Azad University is as follows:

1- In 2002, 5,000 hectares of land, equivalent to 50 million square meters, which alone is the size of a small city, will be transferred to the Islamic Azad University completely free of charge by the Jiroft Natural Resources Department in Kerman Province.

2- In 2015, more than five hectares of land were transferred to the Islamic Azad University by the Jiroft Urban Land Department completely free of charge, but unfortunately, according to the available documents, the university has forcibly encroached on properties adjacent to the donated land.

3- In previous years, 70 hectares of land in Gilan Province have been given to the Islamic Azad University for free by the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad.

4- In the past years, at different intervals in Tehran province, more than 100 hectares of land have been given to Islamic Azad University for free by the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad. This is despite the fact that according to Article 34 of the Law, the transfer of national and state resource lands is prohibited.

5- Islamic Azad University in Babol city has received two plots of land with an area of ​​40 hectares, including a 50% discount, from the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad. Interestingly, this university has not deposited the amount it pledged to pay into the government's account, but these two plots of land are definitively transferred to the university by the aforementioned ministry. This is despite the fact that Note 4, Article 34 of the Law on Transfer of National and Governmental Land Resources clearly states that lands located in the provinces of Gilan, Mazandaran, Golestan and Tehran are not subject to the discount.

6- The Ministry of Agricultural Jihad has leased 50 hectares of land in Tehran and Qom to the university in Tehran province, but the Islamic Azad University has not fulfilled its commitment and has not paid the government any rent.

7- The president of the Azad University not only took land from public property but also could upgrade the land, meaning that he would convert agricultural land into residential land, leading to an increase in the price of the same land. After reviewing the complaints received from the people of the north, it was concluded that the land of the people of the north was provided to the Azad University, but no university was built. 

Azad University's tyranny in violating the rights of one million people

17 years ago, Azad University and the Pension Organization signed an agreement to transfer a 2,000-square-meter plot of land belonging to retirees in exchange for fulfilling certain obligations by Azad University. However, while Azad University had not fulfilled any of its obligations, the properties in question were later transferred to the Khadija Kobra Institute, whose founding board included Jasbi, the president of Azad University, and her husband and brother-in-law. These two properties are now out of the hands of the Pension Organization.

How did the Azad University become the owner of 2 million square meters of land?

Mr. Hadavi, in order to do a good deed, gives away part of his inherited land to the Azad University. Therefore, he donates more than 2 million square meters to the Azad University during a conversation with Jasbi and keeps 140,000 square meters for his family. After this action by the Hadavi family, the Azad University requests the transfer of the deed under the pretext of obtaining a loan from the bank, and after signing the agreement and receiving the land from the Azad University, the university officials begin to seize the remaining land by taking the most heinous measures.
On September 1, 1997, an official expert went to investigate Hadavi's complaint against the Free University and wrote in his report that the Free University had taken over 69,899 square meters of Hadavi's land. After the comings and goings of various experts, a definitive verdict was issued that the Free University had encroached. However, the court said that the verdict was the same as the previous verdict that was issued due to the minutes of the meeting of the heads of the three branches in 1988, while investigations showed that the minutes referred to the minutes of the meeting of the Article 5 Commission of the Municipality.
Qalibaf, the then police commander, said: "When I heard that people were being beaten in the aforementioned fields, I told the local police chief to investigate the matter, but he said there was no news. So I went myself to see what was going on, and in the meantime, they called from the judiciary, asking where are you going? You have no right to go! But I went and saw that these things they were saying were happening and people were being beaten, and then when I investigated, I saw that the police chief there had taken bribes for two villa properties."
Regarding his ownership of the above license plates, Jasbi has in many cases used the names and titles of high-ranking officials in the regime, especially the Leader.

 In 1994, at the opening ceremony of the Science and Research Unit, Mr. Hashemi Rafsanjani personally thanked Mr. Hadavi for his generosity in transferring these lands to the Islamic Azad University. One of the factors that has caused judges to always feel unsafe in issuing rulings against the Islamic Azad University is something that the senior management of the Islamic Azad University has attributed to the Supreme Leader. The senior management of the Islamic Azad University has repeatedly stated in its defenses to judicial authorities that the Islamic Azad University is run by a board of trustees headed by the Supreme Leader.
This is while the Leader of the Revolution in 2019 (about 4 years before the defense of the Islamic Azad University in the judicial authorities) in a public meeting with the managers responsible for student publications on March 25, 2019, which was also published in the mass media, said the following regarding His Excellency's participation in the administration of the Islamic Azad University:
"You say I am a member of the founding board and the board of trustees, no, but from the beginning they just blessed us by including our names in the board of trustees! I don't remember at all whether I attended one or two meetings of the board of trustees from the very beginning, so I have no involvement in policy-making there... Dr. Jasby also comes here sometimes, but when it comes to the university, if we say anything to him, it is advice that we give him. For example, complaints that are received are reported to him through the office. I have no involvement in the work of the university."
There is much room for thought and contemplation in these statements: Is it possible for the first person in the government to be a member of the Board of Trustees of a wealthy and prestigious institution like the Islamic Azad University, and that's it!!!!!!!!!!!

There is no end to the betrayal and lies among this crowd. The pollution of most of my homeland's cities, the cartoonish dreams of the metropolises, the large and open thefts, the innocent and deprived children of concubines, unemployment, land subsidence, successive droughts and... These are serious alarms... Why don't we wake up and see... Maybe these pollutions and blasphemy have obstructed our vision and thinking!!!!!!!!!!!
