Schools in a number of cities in Khuzestan, Fars, Bushehr, Lorestan and Isfahan closed

With the arrival of a rain system from southwestern Iran, schools and universities in a number of cities in the provinces of Khuzestan, Fars, Bushehr, Lorestan, and western Isfahan province were declared closed on Tuesday, December 16.
According to ISNA, according to the announcement of the Khuzestan Crisis Management Headquarters, schools and universities in 13 cities have been declared closed on Tuesday morning due to flooded streets and heavy rain.
The announcement from the Khuzestan Crisis Management Headquarters states: "Based on the decision of the Khuzestan Crisis Response Operations Prevention, Coordination and Command Headquarters, all schools, educational centers and universities in the cities of Ahvaz, Hamidieh, Karun, Bavi, Susangerd, Shadegan, Abadan, Khorramshahr, Ramshir, Ramhormoz, Mahshahr, Hendijan and Omidiyeh have been declared closed in the morning due to flooded streets and rain tomorrow, Tuesday, December 16."
Meanwhile, on Monday, three hours of heavy rainfall in the city of Ahvaz caused flooding in the city's streets and passages, disrupting traffic throughout the city.
According to IRNA, 60 millimeters of rain in a few hours caused the main streets of Ahvaz to be flooded with sewage due to the rising sewage levels.
According to this report, the coastal streets of Ahvaz as well as the central streets have been closed due to flooding and damaged vehicles, making it difficult for vehicles to pass through.
Khuzestan Meteorology has also announced that the highest rainfall so far on Monday was recorded in Abadan, at 112.5 millimeters. The intensity of the rainfall in Abadan reduced horizontal visibility to 100 meters for several hours.
Khuzestan Meteorology had previously issued a warning regarding the arrival of this precipitation system from Monday to early Wednesday.
The Fars Provincial Education Department has also announced: All schools in all academic years in the cities and regions of Shiraz, Lar, Bayrom, Lamerd, Ashkanan, Allamroodasht, Oz, Khonj, Garash, Qir, Zarqan, Marvdasht, Dorudzan, Kamfiroz, Doshman Ziari, Forg, Sarvostan, Mahormilati, Baladeh, Sepidan, Bayza, Farashband, Firouzabad, Kazerun, Kohchenar, Mamasani, Jahrom, Fasa, Sheshdeh, Shibkuh, Mehr, Goledar, Zarrin Dasht, Kavar, Arjan, and Darab will be closed on Tuesday.
Fars Meteorology has also predicted that the amount of precipitation from this system will be between 40 and 90 millimeters.
Meanwhile, following continued rain in southwest and southern Iran, the head of the Bushehr Provincial Education and Information and Public Relations Department said that all schools in Bushehr city have been closed in the morning and afternoon on Tuesday.
Due to heavy rainfall and weather instability, schools in all cities of Bushehr province were closed on Monday.
The General Directorate of Education of Isfahan Province has also announced that due to heavy snowfall in the western and southern regions of Isfahan Province and rainfall in the central regions, the forecast of a drop in temperature in the early morning hours and slippery roads, and to prevent unfortunate incidents, schools in the cities of Fereydounshahr, Chadegan, Buin Miandasht, Fereyden, and Tiran will be closed for all three academic years on Tuesday.
