American Christian organizations united in calling for support for the people of Iran

American Christian organizations united to call on the US government to support the people of Iran.
Christian organizations in the United States have united to launch a campaign calling on US President Donald Trump to respond to Iran's nuclear threat with a decisive decision and to support human rights and religious freedoms in the country.
The campaign, organized by American Christian leaders and the Israel Allies for Change Foundation, is supported by former U.S. Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom Sam Baunbeck. The coalition’s statement said it also has the support of millions of pro-Israel Christians in the United States.
The campaign by American Christian organizations comes as tensions between Iran and the United States are rising, and human rights activists are also trying to draw global attention to the human rights situation in Iran.
The statement, while referring to the history of imprisonment and torture of Christians, systematic discrimination against Baha'is, Jews, Sunni Muslims, and Zoroastrians in Iran, accused the Islamic Republic of destroying Iranian national resources with the aim of financing terrorism, including Hamas and Hezbollah groups.
The organizations mentioned in the statement, citing human rights violations and the lack of democratic freedoms in Iran, called on Trump to take a decisive and bold decision to confront Iran's nuclear threat and support the popular uprisings in Iran. They also supported regime change in Iran.
The campaign also focused on the religious freedoms and opportunities available to women before the 1979 revolution.
Sam Brownback, who supports the campaign, said: "The Iranian government's support for terrorism has caused suffering for millions of people."
Susan Michael, director of American Christian Leaders for Israel, also called on the United States to learn from its past mistakes and support the people of Iran.
Josh Reinstein, president of the Israel Allies Foundation, also said: "It's time to act with force. Christians across America, who form the backbone of the Republican Party, are coming together to call on President Trump to support Israel and join the fight against the Iranian nuclear threat."
