Thousands of Iranians travel by land to Türkiye to shop at the "Black Friday" auction

An Iranian customs official announced that "thousands" of Iranians traveled to Turkey for several days to take advantage of special "Black Friday" auctions in the country.

According to the Iranian Customs Spokesperson, in an 11-day period from November 17 to December 28, 16,759 Iranians entered Türkiye through land borders.

This year, November 26th coincided with Black Friday.

According to Ruhollah Latifi, during the same period, 16,629 of the passengers who had traveled to Türkiye returned to the country.

He described the travel of this number of Iranian citizens to Turkey as "strange" and said that the return of almost the same number of people who had left the country indicates that they had gone to the country to take advantage of the auctions in Turkish shopping malls.

Latifi added that the majority of the returnees returned to the country on the 6th, 7th, and 8th of Azar.

As reported by ILNA News Agency, the most crowded and popular destination in Turkey for Iranians is the commercial centers of the city of Van in Turkey, and a significant number of Iranians have reached the shopping centers of Van from the Razi border.

For years, buying shoes and clothes from Turkish auctions and selling them at a higher price has become a business in Iran, and various shops selling Turkish goods are advertised on social media.

Türkiye, neighboring Iran, has become one of the most popular destinations for tourism, taking advantage of the country's social freedoms, and purchasing property.
