Prince Reza Pahlavi: "This nation is no longer willing to pay the price for your destructive illusions"

In response to Khamenei's statements, Prince Reza Pahlavi told him: "This nation is no longer willing to pay the price for your destructive illusions."

US President Donald Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and chief US negotiator Steve Whittaker had stated in talks with Iran that Tehran could not enrich uranium, while the Islamic Republic had declared the issue of enrichment to be its red line.

Yesterday, May 19, at the ceremony commemorating the "Martyrs of Service" and the anniversary of the assassination of former President Ebrahim Raisi, Ali Khamenei, in response to statements by American officials regarding the halt to uranium enrichment, stated: "Speaking of negotiations, I must give a warning to the other side. The American side, which is indirectly participating in these negotiations and holding talks, should try not to talk nonsense. It is a big mistake to say that we will not allow Iran to enrich uranium. No one is waiting for permission for this or that, the Islamic Republic has a policy, a method, and it pursues its own policy.

"Of course, on another occasion, I will explain to the Iranian people why they rely on enrichment? Why are the Western and American parties and others so insistent that there should be no enrichment in Iran? I will explain this to the Iranian people on another occasion so that they know what the other side's intentions are."

Ali Khamenei's boasting about uranium enrichment came hours before his speech, when Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister had announced that he was considering a proposal to hold a fifth round of talks with the United States. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, who is chairing the talks with the United States, said hours after Ali Khamenei's remarks: "The Leader of the Islamic Republic has made our task clear."

Araqchi also called the US positions unreasonable and illogical, adding that the enrichment issue is not a negotiable issue at all.

Prince Reza Pahlavi, in response to Khamenei's statements regarding his opposition to stopping uranium enrichment and his promise to explain it to the Iranian people, addressed Khamenei: "This nation is no longer willing to pay the price for your destructive illusions. The Islamic Republic has reached a dead end and your end is near. You have spent hundreds of billions of dollars on enrichment, foreign interference, and domestic repression, and you have ruined the lives of several generations. You have brought wealthy Iran to a point where the people of my country do not even have water or electricity and are crushed under the burden of poverty and high prices."

Western countries, especially the United States and Israel, are concerned that Iran is seeking weapons because of its 60 percent enrichment of uranium, which is not far from the 90 percent enrichment required for nuclear weapons. Donald Trump also said about the fate of Iran's civilian nuclear program: "They have a lot of oil. They have oil for 300 years and they have good quality oil. When you have all this oil, why do you need a civilian nuclear program? I don't understand!"

Reports from the International Atomic Energy Agency also indicate that Iran's uranium reserves have reached a level in recent years that, if enriched to 90 percent, would be sufficient to make six atomic bombs.
