Security forces shoot women in the face and genitals during protests

In the ongoing protests, security forces are targeting protesters, especially women, with bullets in their faces and genitals to suppress them.

In recent months, there have been reports of women, men, and children suffering eye injuries from gunshots during nationwide protests, with some of these individuals suffering serious injuries, such as losing vision in one or both eyes.

But recent news published on social media shows more serious harm, especially to women. News in which people state that the Islamic Republic government wants to prevent women from protesting by destroying their beauty. Security forces are brutally shooting women in the face and genitals, leaving them with serious physical, mental, and irreparable harm.

The Guardian also reported, through interviews with doctors and nurses across Iran, that repressive forces often shoot women in the face, chest and genitals with shotgun pellets. Photographs provided to the Guardian by doctors show severe injuries all over the bodies of protesters who were shot at close range.

Doctors and nurses who treat the wounded secretly to avoid arrest also stated that when injured protesters came to them, they noticed that women often came to them with different wounds than men.

A doctor in Isfahan province said he treated a woman in her 20s who had two bullets in her genitals and 10 in her inner thighs. The patient told the doctor that during the protests, about 10 officers surrounded her and shot her in her genitals and thighs.

What do these inhumane acts of the Islamic Republic government forces indicate and what do they want to prove with their actions? Are they, as the Iranian people say, showing their contempt with this act, or are they just the playthings of the senior officials of the Islamic Republic who dance with any compromise and as they wish?
