Issuing an indictment and referring the case of Amin and Arman Ansarifar to the Bandar Mahshahr Revolutionary Court

HRANA News Agency – The case of Amin and Arman Ansarifar, father and brother of Farzad Ansarifar, who was killed in the November 2019 protests, was referred to the Bandar Mahshahr Revolutionary Court with the issuance of an indictment. Amin Ansarifar and his son Arman Ansarifar were arrested on February 20 and March 2 and were eventually transferred to Behbahan Prison.

According to HRANA News Agency, the news agency of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, the case of Amin and Arman Ansarifar, residents of Behbahan and the father and brother of Farzad Ansarifar, one of the victims of the November 2019 protests, was referred to the Bandar Mahshahr Revolutionary Court with an indictment.

The charges against Amin Ansarifar in the indictment issued by Aina are as follows: “1- Communication and interviewing with the hostile US government through an interview with Ms. Masih Alinejad, an employee of the US State Department; 2- Propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran through interviews with media hostile to the regime.” The charges were referred to the Band-e Mahshahr Revolutionary Court by Branch 4 of the Behbahan City Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office, headed by Judge Kazem Tayeb.

A source informed about the conditions of these citizens in Behbahan Prison told HRANA: "Amin Ansarifar complained of pain in his heart during a call with his family yesterday. Arman Ansarifar also has symptoms of coronavirus, such as cough, headache, and runny nose."

On Saturday, February 20, Amin Ansarifar was arrested after going to the Behbahan Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office and transferred to the prison in the city. On Sunday, February 2, Arman Ansarifar was also arrested by intelligence officers at his home and first transferred to the detention center of this security institution and finally to Behbahan prison. According to an informed source, Arman Ansarifar was charged with "propaganda against the system" and these citizens are currently deprived of the right to visit their families.

Amin Ansarifar was previously summoned to Branch 4 of the Behbahan City Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office, headed by Judge Kazem Tayeb, to defend himself on charges related to the charges. The charge against him is "propaganda in favor of groups or organizations opposed to the Islamic Republic."

In addition, Arman Ansarifar was summoned to the Fourth Investigation Branch of the Behbahan Prosecutor's Office on December 13 of this year through a notice.

During the November 2019 protests in Behbahan, a number of citizens living in the city, including Mehrdad Dashtini, Mahmoud Dashtini, Farzad Ansarifar, Mohammad Hossein Qanavati, Ehsan Abdullahnejad, and Mohammad Hashemdar, were killed by security forces. HRANA also reported on November 20, 2019, that Branch 102 of the Criminal Court of the Two Counties of Behbahan had issued sentences of 109 years in prison and 2,590 lashes for 36 people arrested during the November protests in Behbahan.
