Ataullah Bahmanesh passed away

Ataollah Bahmanesh, a prominent Iranian athlete, journalist, and sports reporter, has died at the age of 94. He had been hospitalized for a month due to a stroke.
Ataollah Bahmanesh, one of the oldest figures in Iranian sports news, died in Tehran on Sunday evening (July 2) at the age of 94. He had been hospitalized in the intensive care unit of Tehran's Bank Melli Hospital for a month due to a stroke.
Ataullah Bahmanesh began his career in January 1955 with the sports magazine "Niro va Rasti". From 1955 to 1959, he collaborated with the publication "Omid Iran" and then joined the main writers' group of the weekly "Kayhan Verzeh". He also collaborated with other sports publications.
Ataullah Bahmanesh was also one of the first live sports reporters, and his captivating and exciting voice in live sports reporting on Iranian Radio and Television is still vivid in the memories of many Iranians.
In addition to his journalism, Mr. Bahmanesh was also an athlete and was active in athletics, football, wrestling, tennis, and mountaineering. His main interest was wrestling, and he served as the secretary and vice president of the Iranian Wrestling Federation for five years.
After the 1979 revolution in Iran, Ataullah Bahmanesh was dismissed from the National Radio and Television. It is said that a few years later, he was invited back to work as a reporter, but he refused to return to the radio and television.
Ataullah Bahmanesh has also written several books in the field of sports and the history of sports competitions, the most important of which are "The Olympic Games from the Beginning to the Present" and "The Football World Cup from the Beginning to 2002."
