Iran's Ministry of Cultural Guidance: We are working to lift Shajarian's ban

Farzad Talebi, Director General of the Music Office of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Iran, announced that he will do his utmost to remove obstacles to Mohammad Reza Shajarian's activities so that his works can reach his audience.
According to FCNN and quoted by ILNA news agency, after Mohammad Reza Shajarian published a video file of Eid greetings and announced his illness, a new wave of reactions to the ban on the singing master began. Although public and media protests against Shajarian's ban suddenly intensified, they ultimately led to reactions from the Iranian Broadcasting Corporation and the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
During Nowruz, the Iranian Broadcasting Corporation (IBC) reported on the health status of Mohammad Reza Shajarian and spoke about the artistic programs of this master of singing in Iran. After that, the Minister of Guidance wished Mohammad Reza Shajarian good health in a message. Along with these issues, news that was circulating on social media was the initiative of the Ministry of Guidance to publish Mohammad Reza Shajarian's works and hold his concert.
On Saturday, April 2, Farzad Talebi was finally appointed as the director general of the music office by the Minister of Guidance after two terms as head of the office. In his first interview about the status of Shajarian's activities and the publication of his works, he said: "We will do our best to remove the obstacles to Master Shajarian's activities and ensure that audiences have access to his works."
Mohammad Reza Shajarian has not been active in the official Iranian music scene since 2009, and his voice and image are not broadcast on the Iranian Radio and Television.
