Part of Saadabad Palace wall collapses "due to moisture"

In a report published on Sunday, April 11, ILNA news agency reported the collapse of "15 meters of the wall of Sa'dabad Palace."

Kia Parsa, the director of the Saadabad complex, announced that the cause of the wall collapse was the deterioration of the water system inside the complex, saying that this incident occurred due to the wall getting wet and that "such a threat exists for the entire Saadabad complex."

According to Mr. Parsa, the collapsed wall is old, has a total length of one kilometer, and was built during the reign of Reza Shah Pahlavi.

Currently, the maintenance and management of this part of Saadabad Palace is the responsibility of the "Presidential Institution," and the President of Iran has hosted a number of foreign counterparts in these palaces.

The director of the Saadabad complex has emphasized that, given the age of the complex, when it rains, especially in the spring, "there is such a threat to the entire Saadabad complex" and attention should be paid to "strengthening" it.

He did not explain whether there is a plan in this regard, but he said that "necessary correspondence has been conducted to attract resources for restoration" for the collapsed section.

The Saadabad historical complex is located north of Tehran, on a land area of 110 hectares and has about 180 hectares of natural forest, a spring, and aqueduct.
