Switzerland and the United States negotiate on expanding humanitarian aid to Iran

US President Joe Biden met with his Swiss counterpart in Geneva. After the meeting, AFP reported that Switzerland and the US want to expand humanitarian aid to Iran.
US President Joe Biden met with his Swiss counterpart Guy Parmel on Tuesday (June 15). The Swiss president said the meeting with Biden took place in a very friendly atmosphere.
Parmel wished the US president, who is scheduled to meet with his Russian counterpart in Geneva on Wednesday, June 16, success and a "fruitful meeting."
The Biden-Putin meeting is expected to take place on Wednesday morning.
According to a report by AFP, the US and Switzerland also discussed humanitarian aid to Iran.
The United States and Iran do not have diplomatic relations. Switzerland has been known as the protector of American interests in Iran for more than four decades.
Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis has said that Iran has been one of the topics of bilateral talks between the United States and Switzerland.
According to the Swiss Foreign Minister, discussions with the United States have focused on how to expand humanitarian aid to support the Iranian people.
He emphasized that the parties discussed expanding humanitarian assistance, including sending food and other essential goods.
