"My compatriots in Iran and around the world

These days, I read and see your messages in the "#I_Am_Lawyering" campaign. I am grateful for your kindness and I am honored to be trusted to this extent by you.

More than four decades ago, I began my political life in exile with the mission to be your ally and helper in the struggle for Iran's freedom. In carrying out this mission, your growing trust has been my most valuable asset. Know that I am aware of the responsibility that this trust brings with it, and as I have been for the past four decades, I will stand with you in this struggle with all my might, without any personal expectations or motivations.

The public expression of this trust, among other things, allows me and other people you trust to speak and negotiate on your behalf at the international level with greater strength and clarity. As I emphasized in October 2020 in the “New Pact,” Iran’s salvation is not possible except through national solidarity. Today, I once again extend a hand of cooperation to all pro-democracy forces, including individuals, parties, and groups, to assist the Iranian national revolution on the basis of three minimum common principles: Iran’s territorial integrity, secular democracy based on human rights, and the right of the people to determine the formation of the political system through free elections.

The path to victory is clear and the liberation of the homeland from the clutches of the devil is near. No system, no matter how violent and bloodthirsty, will be able to withstand the steely will of a united nation. I am one of you and with you, and I will not give up until the day a national, democratic, and people-elected government takes control of affairs in Iran.
