Norway summons Iranian ambassador over alleged assassination plot in Denmark

Norway summoned Iran's ambassador on Thursday. The summoning of the Iranian ambassador to Norway comes after Denmark accused Tehran of planning to assassinate an Arab-Iranian opposition figure in Denmark.
It has been reported that a Norwegian citizen of Iranian descent was also involved in this conspiracy.
Denmark announced on Tuesday that it believes that the Iranian government's intelligence service attempted to carry out an assassination operation on Danish soil.
Denmark has now called for broad EU sanctions against the Islamic Republic.
Meanwhile, a Norwegian citizen of Iranian descent was arrested in Sweden on October 21st in connection with an alleged plot to assassinate in Denmark and handed over to Danish authorities.
The Norwegian Foreign Minister said in a statement that during the meeting in which the Iranian ambassador was summoned, it was emphasized that the activity discovered in Denmark was unacceptable and that Norway takes this issue seriously.
The Norwegian citizen, as well as the Iranian government, have denied the allegations and said they have no connection to the conspiracy that Denmark has spoken of.
