Narges Mohammadi was transferred from prison to the hospital due to "respiratory problems"

Taghi Rahmani, Narges Mohammadi's husband, announced on Thursday, February 19, that the political prisoner had been transferred to the hospital due to "respiratory problems."
Mr. Rahmani wrote in a tweet that "we do not have accurate information" about Narges Mohammadi's condition and that "officials are aware of Narges's physical condition."
Ms. Mohammadi was arrested on November 15 during a raid by security forces on a mourning ceremony at the tomb of Ebrahim Kebatdar, one of the victims of November 2019. After 64 days of imprisonment in solitary confinement in Evin Security Ward 209, she was transferred to Qarchak Prison in Varamin in late January.
This political prison had recently published a letter protesting the conditions in Qarchak Prison. Taghi Rahmani says that Ms. Mohammadi's transfer to this prison is "revenge."
Based on the verdict issued by Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, which was communicated to her on January 15, Narges Mohammadi has been sentenced to eight years and two months in prison, 74 lashes, two years of exile from Tehran (ban on residence in Tehran), a two-year ban on political and social activity in institutions and parties, a two-year ban on presence and activity on social networks, telecommunications (interviews), and recording and recording of mobile phones.
In a letter written from Qarchak Prison, she stated that she does not recognize the court's ruling. The European Union has also condemned the ruling and called for Ms. Mohammadi's immediate release.
