Khomeini Shahr MP in Parliament: Farmers do not have water for cultivation

The representative of Khomeini Shahr in the Islamic Consultative Assembly says that about 90 percent of the reservoirs of Isfahan province's dams are empty and Isfahan farmers have no water for cultivation.
Mohammad Taqi Naqdali's words were expressed one day after a number of farmers gathered in front of the Isfahan Agricultural Jihad.
According to ILNA news agency, he pointed out that the water situation in Isfahan is not good and added: "The government has taken measures in light of farmers' protests and problems in the drinking water sector, but Isfahan will face a water shortage this year."
In recent years, Isfahan farmers have repeatedly held rallies and marches to protest the cutting of their water rights and poor farming conditions.
The largest protest by farmers took place in December last year, when they peacefully sat on the dry bed of the Zayandeh River for several days, but security forces and plainclothes officers attacked the farmers, ending their protest.
