Noushin Keshavarzenia, women's rights activist, arrested

Women's rights activists announced on Tuesday the arrest of social researcher Noushin Keshavarzenia and her transfer to prison.

The Twitter page of Bidarzani Media reported that Ms. Keshavarzania was arrested and transferred to prison on Monday, May 25, after being summoned by Iranian security officials.

The report says information about his charges and whereabouts is not yet available.

In recent years, Noushin Keshavarzenia has focused on the issue of violence and harassment against women in her research and civic activities.
