Pope Francis condemns Iranian attacks on Iraqi Kurdistan

Pope Francis condemned Iran's attacks on Iraqi Kurdistan in a speech.

After the war between Israel and Hamas, Iran, in revenge for the Kerman incident, lit the fire of war by attacking Iraqi and Syrian Kurdistan and then Pakistan. In response to the Iranian attack, Pakistan launched an airstrike on Sistan and Baluchestan on Thursday, killing nine people and wounding several others. After that, Benjamin Netanyahu condemned Iran's attack on Iraq and Pakistan and warned against attacking Iran.

Pope Francis, the leader of the world's Catholics, also reacted to these attacks, calling on all governments to prevent the escalation of conflicts in the Middle East and condemning Iran's missile attacks on Iraqi Kurdistan and Syria, saying: "Good relations between neighbors are not created by such actions, but by dialogue and cooperation. I ask everyone to refrain from any action that fuels tension in the Middle East and other war scenarios."

Pope Francis also referred to recent wars in various countries and called for prayers for the victims of war, especially the wars in Ukraine, Gaza, Palestine, and Israel.
