Deputy Health Minister predicts: Number of coronavirus victims will reach 200 per day in June

Iraj Harirchi, Deputy Minister of Health, has said that predictions about deaths from the coronavirus in Iran have changed and "about 200 daily deaths are predicted for June."
According to ILNA news agency, he cited occasions such as Nowruz and increased visibility and visits as factors in the "huge increase in the number of infected people and deaths."
Currently, according to official statistics announced by the Ministry of Health, 80 to 100 people are falling victim to the coronavirus every day.
The Deputy Minister of Health's prediction of a doubling of deaths from the coronavirus comes at a time when the Minister of Health has repeatedly announced the ministry's success in combating the disease.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani also praised his government's approach to combating the coronavirus, saying that Iran's actions could be a source for university textbooks.
