Cavusoglu: Russia's approach in nuclear talks is negative

At the final press conference of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, the Turkish Foreign Minister criticized Russia's current performance in the negotiations to revive the JCPOA and said he hopes this approach will not continue.

In a press conference after the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, the Turkish Foreign Minister referred to Moscow's negative approach to the Vienna talks and said: "We hope this practice will not continue. If an agreement is reached, it will be in the interest of all parties, including Russia. We hope that an agreement will be reached in full."

He noted that last month the probability of an agreement in the Iran nuclear talks was around 95 percent, and it had reached 99 percent by the week before the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

In line with these statements, 160 representatives of the Majlis of Iran have advised the negotiating team in Vienna in a statement not to pay attention to the “false deadlines of the West.” The statement, published on Sunday, March 12, emphasizes that the Majlis rejects any agreement that leads to repeated restrictions on the nuclear program.

The signatories of the statement pointed out that despite the "energy crisis in the West" due to the war between Ukraine and Russia, Iran's need for energy has increased, and that America's need for lower oil prices should not be met without considering Iran's demands.

Seyyed Mohsen Dehnavi, a representative from Tehran in the parliament, read out this statement and emphasized "national interests" and "red lines" and said: "We call on our country's negotiating team not to consider themselves limited to the West's artificial deadlines in the Vienna negotiations."

These representatives have considered Iran's "preserving the essential elements of its nuclear program" as a guarantee that "America's mistake of reneging on its commitments will not be repeated."
