Where does Shariah say that Christian, Jewish, or Zoroastrian women must wear the hijab?

Regarding the hijab law, Morteza Al-Wairi said: "Where does Shariah come from that Christian, Jewish, or Zoroastrian women must wear the hijab?"

Regarding the hijab law and Islamic regulations, Morteza Al-Wairi, a member of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, said in a statement: "According to the law of chastity and hijab, if an elderly woman walks in the city without a hijab, she should be fined and even go to prison. This is exactly the explicit opinion of the religious authorities, who have said that elderly women do not need to observe the hijab. Therefore, this law is anti-Islamic, meaning that it is not consistent with Islamic regulations."

"In my opinion, this law on chastity and hijab is anti-Islamic, anti-human, anti-moral, and anti-economic. Of course, I list and explain these things with awareness. First, this law is anti-Islamic. In Islam, there is no punishment for someone who does not observe the Islamic hijab. This does not exist in the Quran, nor in the Prophet's life, nor in the life of the Imams."

He also pointed out the heavy financial penalties for not wearing the hijab, adding: "Imposing heavy financial penalties and imprisonment for someone who does not wear the Islamic hijab is contrary to the Sharia, Quran, and Sunnah. There are other statements in this context that further demonstrate this contradiction. The same jurists who believe in the Islamic hijab agree that religious minorities do not need to wear the Islamic hijab, the same jurists agree that elderly women do not need to wear the Islamic hijab, while in this law that was approved in the parliament, a Christian, Jewish, or Zoroastrian woman must wear the hijab. Where does this matter come from in the Sharia? This is precisely contrary to the Sharia regulations that the jurists agree on."
