Christians and Muslims gather in Algeria to pray for an end to the war

Christians and Muslims from the Middle East gathered in Algeria to pray for an end to the war and the establishment of peace, especially for Gaza.

According to "Redna", Christians and Muslims gathered at the Church of Our Lady of Africa in Algeria to pray for peace in the Middle East, especially an end to the war in Gaza.

The Catholic Church in Algeria issued a call for people to gather for interfaith prayer and pray for peace in the Gaza Strip. Foreign diplomats and representatives of various associations also attended the gathering, following the call issued in Algeria, to participate in the prayer service.

French Ambassador Stephane Romet, while participating in the ceremony, delivered a speech about the gathering and said: "At a time when world peace is at stake, especially in the Middle East, the action of today's diverse society, which includes Christians and Muslims, is of great importance."

The ceremony was also attended by Palestinian Ambassador Fayez Mohammed Mahmoud Abu Eita, Algerian Archbishop Jean Plefescu, and Youssef Macharia, president of the Algerian association "Passage of Peace." Youssef Macharia said in a speech: "We have gathered here to pray for an end to the conflict in the Middle East, Palestine, and Gaza."

Bishop Jean Plefesco of Algeria said about the purpose of the gathering: "We wanted to hold a day of fasting and collective prayer for peace and an end to the war in Gaza. So today is a day of prayer in solidarity with all the inhabitants of Gaza."

About 200 people gathered at the aforementioned call and prayed.
