Barna Group: 77% of American teenagers are interested in knowing Jesus

The Barna Group announced in a survey that 77 percent of American teenagers are interested in knowing Jesus Christ.
The Barna Research Group, which studies the state of Christianity in America, conducted a survey of American teenagers, which found that three out of four American teenagers, or 77 percent, are eager and interested in learning about Jesus Christ. Overall, of the 77 percent, 52 percent said they were very motivated to learn about Jesus Christ, and the rest said they were somewhat eager to learn about him.
Six percent were somewhat unmotivated, 10 percent unmotivated, and 7 percent were unsure. The Barna Group, which reviewed the survey, described it as encouraging. The group also said: “Despite a general decline in affiliation with religious institutions, Gen Z remains interested in learning about faith.”
In a Barna Group survey, 44 percent of respondents said they trusted Christian-based organizations more than secular charities. Another 42 percent trusted both charities equally. A recent report in the UK found that nearly three-quarters of Gen Zers believe that Christian faith-based organizations are key to social change.
Josh Green, who leads the Gen Zeal project, which focuses on youth faith engagement, also said: “Change is happening in our country. So don’t even think for a moment about giving up. I hope we are inspired to understand young people more deeply. When we give young people the opportunity to follow Jesus wholeheartedly, the evidence shows that they are ready to reach great heights.”
