1404 Protests; Report of Arrest of 57 Citizens in North Khorasan and Ashtar Ashrafiyyeh

Hrana News Agency – Media outlets close to security institutions reported the arrest of at least 57 citizens in North Khorasan province and Ashaneh Ashrafiyyeh in connection with nationwide protests.
According to Hrana News Agency, citing Student News, one citizen was arrested in Ashaneh Ashrafiyyeh.
The police commander of Ashaneh Ashrafiyyeh claimed in this regard: The defendant is a 29-year-old man who set police traffic vehicles on fire during December protests.
Furthermore, Student News Agency announced in another report that 56 citizens were arrested in connection with recent public protests in North Khorasan province.
The General Office of Information of North Khorasan claimed regarding the arrest of these citizens that these individuals are accused of damaging public property in the province.
In this report, the identities, dates of arrest, and charges attributed to these citizens were not mentioned.
It should be noted that gatherings and strikes by merchants and bazaar vendors began on Sunday, the 7th of December in Tehran and after two days, their scope extended beyond bazaars and commercial centers. These protests, with the participation of students, citizens, and various social classes, turned into one of the most widespread protests in recent years. Following the suppression of protests by law enforcement and security forces, thousands were killed and wounded, and tens of thousands were also arrested or summoned by security institutions.
