Prince Reza Pahlavi: “This Nation No Longer Willing to Pay the Price of Your Destructive Illusions”

Prince Reza Pahlavi, in response to Khamenei’s remarks, addressed him saying: “This nation no longer willing to pay the price of your destructive illusions.”

U.S. President Donald Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Steve Witkoff, the main U.S. negotiator in talks with Iran, had stated that Tehran cannot have uranium enrichment, while the Islamic Republic had declared the enrichment issue as its red line.

On the past day, May 20th, Ali Khamenei at a commemoration ceremony for “Martyrs of Service” and the anniversary of the death of former President Ibrahim Raisi, in response to statements by American officials about stopping uranium enrichment, said: “There was talk of negotiations, and I must give a reminder to the other side. The American side that is indirectly entering into these negotiations and dialogues, should try not to talk nonsense. To say that we will not allow Iran to enrich uranium is a grave mistake. No one is waiting for permission from this or that. The Islamic Republic has a policy, has a method, and pursues its own policy.

Of course, on another occasion I will explain to the Iranian people why they are relying on enrichment. Why do Western, American, and other parties insist so much that Iran should not have enrichment? I will clarify these matters on another occasion for the Iranian people so they know what the other side’s intention is.”

Ali Khamenei’s declarations about uranium enrichment came as Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister had announced hours before his speech that a fifth round of negotiations with America was being considered, and Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister who heads negotiations with America, said hours after Khamenei’s remarks: “The Leader of the Islamic Republic has clarified our duty.”

Araghchi also described America’s positions as unreasonable and illogical, adding that the issue of enrichment is not a negotiable matter at all.

Prince Reza Pahlavi, in response to Khamenei’s remarks regarding his opposition to halting uranium enrichment and his promise to explain it to the Iranian people, addressed Khamenei saying: “This nation no longer willing to pay the price of your destructive illusions. The Islamic Republic has reached a dead end and your end is near. You spent hundreds of billions of dollars on enrichment, foreign interference, and domestic repression and wasted the lives of several generations. You brought wealthy Iran to a point where my people don’t even have water and electricity and are crushed under the weight of poverty and inflation.”

Western countries, particularly the United States and Israel, are concerned that Iran, due to its 60 percent uranium enrichment which is not far from 90 percent enrichment for nuclear weapons production, may be seeking weapons. Donald Trump also said about the fate of Iran’s non-military nuclear program: “They have massive oil. They have oil for 300 years and it’s good oil. When you have that much oil, what need is there for a non-military nuclear program? I don’t understand!”

Reports from the International Atomic Energy Agency also indicate that the level of Iran’s uranium reserves in recent years has reached a point that, if 90 percent enrichment were achieved, would be sufficient for making six atomic bombs.
