Arul Carasala is an Indian-American Catholic priest who resides in Seneca, located in northeastern Kansas. He had served in Kansas for more than 20 years when he was shot and killed by an unknown individual in front of his home with three bullets.

Arul was originally from India and was ordained as a priest in 1994 and received U.S. citizenship in 2011. He began his service at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in 2011. The church announced through a statement posted on its Facebook page that Father Arul passed away hours after being transferred to the hospital.

Joseph Naumann, Archbishop of Kansas City, posted on social media confirming the news of Father Arul’s murder, writing: “This senseless act of violence has grieved us with the loss of a dedicated priest, leader, and dear friend. Father Carasala was a devoted and passionate priest. His love for Christ and the Church was evident in the manner of his service to all.” He assured church members in response to their concerns that no other threats have been made against the church.

Chris Anderson, director of the church’s education department, also stated in an interview with the Associated Press news network: “What we know is that an elderly man approached him and shot him three times.”

Information about why Father Arul Carasala was killed and by whom is not available. Regarding this crime, it can only be said that not only Father Arul, but other Christians have also been killed in horrific ways in recent weeks in various countries, with news of their murders not being covered by the media and remaining hidden.
