Christian Couple Killed by Cyanide-Laced Food by Muslim Woman

A Christian couple was murdered through food laced with cyanide poison by a Muslim woman.
Published reports indicate the killing of a Christian couple in the second week of March through food contaminated with cyanide poison. Once again, religious prejudices and radical Islamism have resulted in a tragic incident, which represents a bitter account of the challenges present in multicultural societies afflicted by extreme prejudices.
These prejudices resulted in a painful tragedy in the Butaleja region in eastern Uganda, which was once again due to radical Islamist prejudices. The tragedy resulted in the death of three people: a Christian couple named “Doreen Nairobi,” 32 years old, who was in the sixth month of pregnancy, and her husband “Jackson Wampola,” 35 years old, and an 18-year-old young woman named “Mariam Kapisa” were victims of this incident.
The incident occurred as follows: A woman named “Hanifa Hamiyat,” a radical Muslim, prepared food for her Christian neighbor and poisoned it. Mariam was Hanifa’s daughter, who delivered this food to their neighbor’s house, and since she had no knowledge that the food was poisoned, she also ate from this food. All three victims showed severe signs of poisoning immediately after eating the food.
Kapisa screamed in pain and was taken to the hospital, but unfortunately lost her life. The Christian couple also lost their lives after 24 hours. The forensic examiner also confirmed the presence of cyanide poison in the food after examining the remaining food.
Law enforcement officials stated that Hanifa Hamiyat confessed to their murders and is now in custody. Hanifa in her statements said: “I never intended to kill my daughter. Mariam was in contact with this Christian couple and attended church services with Christians during the month of Ramadan, which I was deeply displeased about. My intention was to kill the neighbors for taking my daughter to church during this blessed month of Ramadan. The mosque imam also assured us that when you kill an infidel, God grants you a heavenly reward. I wanted to obtain that divine reward.”
The first court hearing to examine this case will be held on April 2nd.
