Pope Francis Calls for Investigations into Genocide in Gaza

Pope Francis, leader of Catholics worldwide, has called for investigations into genocide in the Gaza Strip.
Pope Francis, leader of Catholics worldwide, called for comprehensive investigations into genocide in the Gaza Strip before January of next year, when a new book was scheduled to be released.
The book “Hope Never Disappoints, Better World Pilgrims,” written by “Ernan Riazalqidi” based on his conversations with the Pope, is set to be published by Pope Francis before the launch of “Hope Festival” in 2025. Excerpts from this book were published in the newspaper “La Stampa,” in which the Pope stated: “According to some experts, what is happening in Gaza has the characteristics of genocide. We must carefully examine whether this aligns with the technical definitions provided by judges and international institutions.”
Pope Francis’s call for investigations into genocide in the Gaza Strip came at a time when Israeli attacks on Gaza have resulted in very high civilian casualties. The death toll in Gaza due to the Zionist regime’s attacks has exceeded 43,000 people. This is while Israel, in violation of UN Security Council resolutions and international laws of war, has also targeted civilian facilities and infrastructure including churches, mosques, camps where Palestinian refugees had taken shelter, residential areas, and hospitals.
Pope Francis also expressed concern about the humanitarian situation in Gaza, stating: “We cannot remain indifferent to the suffering of people. Everyone must strive to achieve justice and protect innocent civilians.”
The Associated Press also published an article regarding Pope Francis’s call, writing: “This is the first time Pope Francis has openly called for investigations into genocide allegations against Israeli actions in the Gaza Strip. He had said in September that Israeli attacks on Gaza and Lebanon were immoral and disproportionate, and that its army violated the laws of war.”
Additionally, some human rights groups and international organizations have also called for independent investigations into this matter. Political analysts believe that such statements from Pope Francis can exert greater pressure on governments worldwide to address the Gaza crisis.
