“Hajji Babayi”: We Cover All the Expenses of the Persian Gulf Littoral States

Hajji Babayi announced at the national program gathering that the Islamic Republic covers the expenses of the Persian Gulf littoral states.
Hajji Babayi, Vice Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, at the gathering of the “National Program for Iran’s Future Co-Creation,” spoke about the indirect subsidies that each Iranian receives which are spent on the Persian Gulf littoral states. He clarified in this gathering: “With what research can a minister run the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade? From eggs to airplane flights, everything is under the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade.”
He added in this regard: “Have we reached in our research what has caused these problems? All the hardships we have endured so far have resulted in this economy. Today we face an insurmountable imbalance.”
Hajji Babayi also described the upcoming problems as follows: “We have 400 billion currency deficit in the energy sector. The indirect subsidy for each Iranian is 116 million tomans per year. Every month we give 120 billion direct subsidies at an exchange rate of 56 tomans per dollar. Our production has been destroyed because we took subsidies from it. I calculated the indirect subsidy to be 116 million tomans annually per person, and if we calculate it for a four-member family, they receive 580 million tomans in annual indirect subsidies. However, with the people’s indirect subsidies—medicine, bread, gasoline, diesel, and other expenses—we cover all the costs of the Persian Gulf littoral states.”
He expressed in this gathering regarding the society’s problems and their solution: “The people are ahead of us officials in solving problems. Our government officials must appear on television and speak with the people; we must speak honestly with the people. Any research that has a sedative or confusing nature will certainly not be forgiven by the people. We must honestly tell the people that we made mistakes in 30 percent of our efforts, and we will correct them. But 70 percent are intractable knots that we are unable to untie. Will you help us implement them? I ask you to sit down and discuss fundamental matters, say that these knots exist and must be untied, let us be honest.”
Hajji Babayi’s remarks at this gathering reflect the weakening foundations of the Islamic Republic system, whose factors are speaking so recklessly about the mistakes and knots created by the system’s hand in the country and caused a severely weak economy in Iran. However, will the Iranian people continue to seek the collapse of the system, or according to Hajji Babayi’s, Vice Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly’s statements, will they help the government untie the knots and solve the problems?
