“Mehri Talebi-Darestani”: Clinic for Abandoning Mandatory Hijab to be Established Soon in Tehran

“Mehri Talebi-Darestani,” head of the Women’s Office and the Headquarters for Enjoining Good, announced the establishment of a clinic for abandoning mandatory hijab in Tehran.
Mehri Talebi-Darestani, head of the Women and Family Office of the Headquarters for Enjoining Good in Tehran province, stated: “With the increase in family referrals to the Headquarters for Enjoining Good seeking assistance for girls and women who have distanced themselves from observing the hijab due to social circumstances or environmental pressures, we have decided to establish a clinic for abandoning non-hijab practices.”
She added in this regard: “This initiative is designed in line with a comprehensive ecosystem program of honor, modesty, chastity and hijab that emphasizes cultural and counseling approaches and is being implemented as part of the mandatory hijab promotion policies in society.”
According to her statements and the news website of the Sisters’ Seminary Centers, the establishment of this clinic is one of the new efforts in line with mandatory hijab policy and aims to create an environment that conveys to women that choosing voluntary dress and abandoning mandatory hijab is a type of illness resulting from societal pressures.
The Headquarters for Enjoining Good also announced regarding the establishment of this clinic: “The clinic for abandoning non-hijab practices will operate with the goal of providing psychological counseling and support to adolescent and young girls who face challenges related to observing mandatory hijab due to environmental and social pressures.”
It should be noted that the aforementioned clinic will be launched and overseen by the Women and Family Office of the Headquarters for Enjoining Good in Tehran.
