Continued Detention of Mozhdeh Fallahi, Christian Citizen, in Shiraz Detention Center

Recent reports indicate the continued detention of Mozhdeh Fallahi, a Christian citizen, in Shiraz’s Plate 100 detention facility.

Mozhdeh Fallahi, a Christian citizen, was arrested on September 19 by Ministry of Intelligence agents. Following her arrest, she was denied contact with her family; however, her mother managed to meet with her for five minutes on Monday, October 9.

After meeting with her mother, Mozhdeh became distressed and began crying. Her family is concerned that the reason for their daughter’s crying and anxiety may be due to mistreatment and abuse during her detention.

According to informed sources, as Mozhdeh has been subjected to intense and repeated interrogations by officials regarding her Christian faith, she is in a very poor psychological state and is constantly crying. Mozhdeh’s detention has been prolonged, and her family members are also being pressured by judicial authorities to convince Mozhdeh to provide more information to interrogators, with the promise of more visitation time in return; however, Mozhdeh’s family has rejected their demands.

Mozhdeh’s mother has repeatedly visited the court to follow up on her daughter’s situation and has requested her release from judicial authorities, but the authorities have pressured her to force her daughter to make forced confessions and provide information.

As Islamic Republic officials and interrogators in prisons pressure, harass, and abuse Christian citizens, many of these citizens suffer from poor psychological and mental conditions even after being released from detention or imprisonment for extended periods.

It is worth noting that the condition of Mozhdeh Fallahi’s mother is also reported to be dire, with symptoms similar to Alzheimer’s disease present in her.
