Disappearance of “Sirous Khosravi” Christian Citizen

“Sirous Khosravi,” a Christian citizen, disappeared after being summoned to the prosecutor’s office.

Ministry of Intelligence agents raided a Christmas party in late December and arrested several Christian citizens who attended the gathering. Sirous Khosravi disappeared after receiving a phone call and being summoned to the prosecutor’s office.

According to statements from Sirous Khosravi’s relatives, security agents contacted him by telephone and ordered him to report himself to the prosecutor’s office located in Shahriyar on Saturday, December 23rd. After leaving his home and identifying himself to security authorities in Shahriyar, he disappeared, and no information about him has been available since. This lack of information has caused concern among his family and relatives.

Mr. Khosravi has 14-year-old twin children who are dealing with high blood pressure, and one of his children suffers from acute kidney disease and is awaiting transplantation. According to his family, Mr. Khosravi is the sole breadwinner of the household, and his absence will have a significant impact on the health condition of his sick children.

According to “Article 18,” Sirous Khosravi is one of 25 Christian citizens who attended a Christmas celebration gathering at the home of a Christian in Shahriyar on December 11, 2023, which was raided by 30 security force agents. Immediately upon attacking the house, they interrogated three Christians and Mr. Khosravi separately in a room for half an hour. The agents photographed the people present at the gathering and forced them to fill out forms containing their personal information.

After interrogation, Mr. Khosravi was transferred to his home by agents, and the agents also searched his house, but they did not arrest him at that time.

The families of the individuals arrested at the gathering were informed that they would be transferred to Evin Prison for at least one month, but information about Sirous Khosravi’s condition and place of detention remains unavailable.

Christian citizens have been subject to harassment, abuse, and even torture by the Islamic Republic government for years. Particularly in the current year, as Christmas celebrations approached, many Christian citizens were arrested in Karaj, Dezful, and Tehran, according to available information.
